Terms & Conditions

1. About us and these terms

These terms cover consumer purchases through abodeandnest.com. Abode & Nest is the trading name of Fittingsco Limited trading as Abode & Nest. Company number: 10681849. Registered office: Units 2 & 3, 20–22 Winton Street, Ashton Under Lyne, OL6 8NL, United Kingdom. References to “we”, “us” and “our” mean that seller. Please read these terms before ordering and keep a copy with your order confirmation.

2. Products and choosing the right items

Check the product description, dimensions, finish, handing, quantities and compatibility before ordering. Product listings explain what is included; do not assume that appliances, handles, fittings or installation are included unless stated. Where a dimension refers to the external cabinet size, it is not the internal usable space.

Screen settings and lighting can affect how colours appear. We recommend viewing a sample before ordering a full kitchen. Natural woodgrain and veneer may vary in pattern. These points do not remove your right to receive goods that match their description and any legally binding sample.

3. Orders and payment

Prices are in pounds sterling and include applicable VAT unless clearly stated otherwise. Delivery charges and the total payable will be shown before you place your order. Payment methods available to you are displayed at checkout.

[CONFIRM ORDER ACCEPTANCE PROCESS] Proposed wording: An automated order acknowledgement confirms receipt of your order. We accept your order when we send a dispatch confirmation or a separate written acceptance. If we cannot accept it, we will tell you and refund any payment taken. Where a price or description error is discovered, we will contact you before proceeding; we will not charge an increased price without your agreement.

4. Delivery

Available delivery areas, charges and estimated lead times are shown before purchase. Any longer delivery period must be agreed with you; otherwise delivery is due within 30 days of the contract. If delivery is delayed, we will explain the position and your options. Your statutory rights to end the contract for late delivery remain unaffected.

Please tell us about restricted access before delivery. Arrange installation after your goods have arrived and have been checked. Risk of loss or damage passes to you when you, or a person you nominate, takes physical possession, except where you independently appoint a carrier not offered by us.

5. Returns and delivery checks

Our Returns & Refunds policy sets out the process and includes our downloadable returns form.

6. Cancellations, returns and refunds

Our 30-day returns policy

We offer returns on eligible standard products, including handles, waste bins, accessories and standard worktops, within 30 days of purchase.

Under this additional returns policy, items must be unused, uninstalled, complete and in their original packaging and resaleable condition. Please contact us within the 30-day period to request a return.

This additional policy does not restrict your statutory cancellation rights or your rights where goods are faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied.

Cabinets, doors and bespoke products

Our cabinets, doors and complete units are produced to order and are excluded from our additional 30-day change-of-mind policy, including their door and drawer fronts.

Where an item is genuinely made to your individual specifications or clearly personalised, the statutory change-of-mind cancellation right does not apply. This may include bespoke dimensions or drilling carried out to your individual requirements. We will identify any applicable exclusion before you order.

Producing an item after an order is placed, or choosing from standard sizes, colours and finishes, does not automatically remove statutory cancellation rights. Painted and acrylic products are subject to the same distinction.

These exclusions never remove your rights if goods are faulty, not as described or incorrectly supplied.

Your right to cancel an online order

For eligible online purchases, you can notify us that you wish to cancel from the time you place your order until 14 days after delivery, without giving a reason. You then have a further 14 days to return the goods.

You may inspect the goods as you would in a shop. We may make a lawful deduction for any reduction in value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.

We do not charge a restocking fee for returns made under your statutory cancellation rights.

Return delivery costs and worktops

For change-of-mind returns, you are responsible for the direct return delivery costs, provided these were disclosed before purchase.

Standard worktops can be returned subject to the applicable conditions above, with return transport at your expense. Our collection charge for an eligible worktop return equals the delivery charge originally paid for the worktops. For example, if your worktop delivery charge was £60, the return collection charge will also be £60.

Worktops must be protected carefully during transport. Worktops cut or customised to your individual specifications may fall within the bespoke-goods exclusion.

For other bulky products that cannot normally be returned by post, we will provide the return cost or a reasonable estimate before you place your order.

Where goods are faulty, damaged on arrival or incorrectly supplied, we will cover the necessary reasonable return or collection costs.

Damage, shortages and incorrect items

Please check your delivery as soon as possible. We ask that visible delivery damage or shortages are reported within 48 hours, with your order number and photographs where possible, so we can investigate promptly.

This is a request to help resolve problems quickly, not a deadline that removes your statutory rights. A claim will not automatically be rejected because you contacted us later or could not provide photographs.

Please avoid installing an item with an apparent fault until you have spoken to us.

How to arrange a return

  1. Email contact@abodeandnest.com with your order number, the items you wish to return and, if relevant, details of any problem. You do not need to give a reason when exercising your statutory cancellation right.
  2. We will provide return instructions and confirm the appropriate delivery or collection arrangements. Contacting us helps coordinate your return; statutory cancellation does not depend on our approval.
  3. Download our Returns Form (PDF), complete the relevant details and include it inside the parcel. Package the items securely and keep proof of posting or collection. If you cannot print the form, include your name and order number instead.

Our contact address is:

Please confirm the return destination with us before sending bulky goods.

Refunds

For statutory cancellations, refunds will be made without undue delay and within 14 days after we receive the goods back or receive evidence that you have sent them back, whichever is earlier. Where we offer to collect the goods, the applicable deadline normally runs from your cancellation notice.

When you cancel an entire eligible order, we also refund the least expensive standard outbound delivery charge we offered. Any extra paid for an upgraded delivery service is not refundable.

Returns accepted solely under our additional 30-day policy will be refunded within 14 days of receipt and inspection. Original delivery charges are not refunded under that additional policy.

Refunds are made to the original payment method unless otherwise agreed.

7. Bespoke goods

The bespoke-goods exclusions and statutory protections set out in section 6 apply. We identify any applicable cancellation exclusion before you place your order.

8. Faulty goods and your rights

Goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If they are not, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 provides remedies, including a short-term right to reject, normally within 30 days, and rights to repair or replacement and, in appropriate circumstances, a price reduction or final rejection. Contact us so we can arrange the appropriate remedy and necessary return or collection at our expense. Manufacturer guarantees are additional to these rights.

9. Installation and care

Follow the supplied assembly, fitting and care instructions and use a suitably competent installer where appropriate. We are not responsible for damage caused by incorrect installation, misuse or unsuitable storage, but remain responsible for defects or inadequate instructions for which the law makes us responsible.

10. Our responsibility

We are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot legally be limited. These consumer terms do not exclude your statutory remedies.

11. Privacy and complaints

See our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy for information about personal data. To raise a complaint, contact us with your order number and an explanation of the problem. We will investigate and explain the outcome and any applicable dispute-resolution options.

12. Law and changes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, without depriving consumers elsewhere of mandatory protections that apply where they live. Consumers in Scotland and Northern Ireland may bring proceedings in their home courts. Changes to these terms apply to future orders and do not retrospectively alter an existing contract.
