Door Specifications

Your kitchen doors set the style of the room, from the framed detail of Cotswold to the clean lines of Mayfair, Como, Milano and Henley. Use this guide to compare profiles and finishes, understand dimensions and plan the components you need.

All doors are supplied undrilled and will require drilling before installation. Hinge holes and any required handle holes must be drilled to suit your chosen fittings.

Range Door style Finish Thickness guidance
Cotswold Shaker Super Matt 18 mm on the listed door specifications.
Mayfair Slab Super Matt; Woodgrain Oak Veneer option 18 mm on the listed door specifications.
Como J Pull Super Matt 22 mm on the listed J Pull door specifications. Check plain slabs and accessories separately.

Henley Slab High Gloss 18 mm on the listed door specifications.

Door fronts, plain slabs, corner fronts and decorative accessories are separate components. Do not assume every item within a range has the same thickness or construction. If the core material or a precise technical dimension is important to your project, ask us to confirm the selected product before purchase.

Understanding the styles

Shaker: Cotswold has a framed appearance that works with traditional and contemporary kitchen schemes. Choose handles to complete the look and consider how their position will work across doors and drawer fronts.

Slab: Mayfair and Henley have a simple, flat-fronted appearance. Handle style and placement can change the overall character of the kitchen. Confirm drilling requirements before choosing your handle centres.

J Pull: Como and Milano use a recessed grip profile for opening the front. This creates a handleless appearance without a separately fitted handle on the J Pull edge. Check the orientation of each front and the handing of any corner component as part of your layout.

Finishes and colour selection

Super Matt offers a low-sheen appearance, while High Gloss reflects more light. Mayfair also includes a Woodgrain Oak Veneer option. The current colour and finish choices for each component appear on its product page; availability can differ between sizes and accessories.

Screen settings and room lighting affect the appearance of colours. We recommend viewing a door sample in your kitchen alongside your worktop, flooring and cabinet colour. Check it in daylight and under your usual kitchen lighting before committing to the full scheme.

Measuring doors and drawer fronts

Door listings use height × width in millimetres. Thickness is a separate measurement. A cabinet described as 600 mm wide does not require a door that is exactly 600 mm wide: the front needs the correct clearance for its particular cabinet and hinge arrangement.

  1. Measure the existing door or drawer front itself, recording its height, width and thickness. Measure each different size separately.
  2. Record the cabinet dimensions, opening direction and position within the kitchen, including corners and appliance housings.
  3. Check hinge cup size, drilling position, hinge spacing and the mounting arrangement before ordering replacement doors. Matching outer dimensions alone does not establish hinge compatibility.
  4. Check drawer-front fixing positions and appliance-door requirements with the relevant hardware or appliance instructions.
  5. Compare the exact measurements with the chosen product and confirm any uncertain detail with our team before purchase.

Do not apply a single assumed gap or drilling pattern across different ranges. For example, some listed Cotswold doors are 595 mm wide, while comparable Mayfair and Henley listings are 597 mm wide. The exact item dimensions matter.

Finishing the kitchen

Allow for the components needed around the doors as well as the fronts themselves:

  • End panels: finish exposed cabinet sides and help coordinate the visible exterior.
  • Plinths: complete the area below base cabinets; plan their height around the installed leg position.
  • Cornice and pelmet: provide finishing details where offered within the chosen range.
  • Corner fronts, fillers and pilasters: must suit the layout and available opening space.

Many listed decorative panels and plinths are 18 mm thick, but dimensions vary by component. Check the individual accessory rather than using the door thickness as a guide. Plan any cutting with your installer and follow the product instructions for protecting cut edges.

Before fitting

Inspect each front for the correct range, colour, size and condition before drilling or modifying it. All doors are supplied undrilled. Hinge holes and any required handle holes must be drilled before installation. Keep fronts protected during installation and follow any supplied instructions for protective-film removal.
